Hos Bestemor

Yesterday after school I went to the farm and go to see not-so-little-baby-Kjartan. Hes getting cuter and cuter, if thats possible. After I got home and took a shower, we went to Bestemors for a nice supper together. It seems like she put alot of time in it. It was so delicious too. Not only that, but we were even able to have not one....but two deserts. We had a chocolate pudding with sauce on top and then when we finished that, we had an icecream cake with what tasted like a Heath bar inside. DQ, you've got some compotition now. :) Spread the word Anita. We checked out the Atlas and all the places in Norway I have been, where differenc cities are in America, and did a little Europe searching as well. We relaxed on the couch for a bit and watched the The Canadian Curling Team beat Norway. :( It was okay though, because there was chocoaltate available too. :) Check out their pants though. The Norwegian team is amaizing. hahahaha.

Vinterkamp

During the last part of the day on Thursday something strange happend. I suddenly had a million knives in my lungs. For those of you who know me well, know that the whole "knife in heart" thing is pretty normal....but I've never had it in my lungs before. It felt strange, and came with stomach, head aches, and a little nausia too. I didnt go to the farm, and just went home, layed down for a bit, and watched t.v. Friday morning it was still the same and I started to get a bit worried because on Saturday, I was supposed to go on my "Wintercamp" with Rotary. I toughed it out... :) .... and Saturday morning arived. Laila suprised me with a backpack full of goodies for my train ride. She got necesities like traveling toothpaste, shampo/conditioner, NEW SOCKS, hair/ear warmer band thingy, and not to mention like a million other things. Anything from medical stuff, to food, to freshly squeesed juices....it was the BEST train ride ever.

I slept in a little, got my bags, and hopped in the car with Laila. She drove me to Drammen where I met Daniel (California) and Anchor (Taiwan). The three of us rode the train into Nesbyn together after a total of about three hours. When we first sat down I ate one of the bannanas that Laila packed, and then admired the scenery out the windows while talking with Daniel. Anchor had to sit in front of us and literatly spent the ENTIRE three hours searchinig for a way to turn his seat around to face it backwords. Every time he got it like 90 degrees turned, it would hit the person in front of him. I still to this day dont think he fully knew what was going on and why it wouldnt turn around. hahahaha. Awww, I love him. Lunch time came, but it was okay, because I still had food that Laila packed. hehehe. THANK YOU! Everything was under control.

Braulio (Mexico) and his counselor were there to pick us up, and we were the first to the cabins. I had just set my bags down and hung up my coat, when all of a sudden a van full of Austrailians showed up. :) Three of them roomed with me in our cabin and by the end of the entire moving in situation we had.....MaJo (Equador), Emily (Maine), Kirsten (Washington), Bri (Austrailia), Maggi (Australia), Zoe (Australia) and Kate (Idaho). There were three girl cabins and two boy cabins. It was amazingly fun to be so close to eachother all the time, yet able to get away for a few if need be as well. By the end of the week, each cabin had an established role.

My cabin ended up being the hang out spot after supper where mostly the hispanics all hung out and danced. I've gotta say, I'm pretty proud of myslef right now. All due to GemGem (Brazil) I am now familiar with like twenty different partner dances I never thought I could do. No, I'm no pro....but I at least feel confident now. :) Mom, you would be proud of me! :) Lets start from the begining....so, on Saturday, after everyone had arived and such, I borowed Agosh's (Argentina) ski's and shoes and went up and down the drivway/trail before we ate. At 7 we had supper with pizza in the main cabin. I sat with GemGem, Daniel, and Caitlin (Australia). It was nice to finally meet her because she had commented on my blog before and we were able to talk a bit. She finally arived in Norway two weeks ago and we got to meet. :) So that was fun. I think the best part of the whole meal was that we were able to speak Norwegian the whole time and not really notice it. I love how its just becoming "normal." It is so hard to remember what happend, because it was like a week ago. But I will try.

SUNDAY

Sunday morning I woke up about two hours earlier than everyone else. I tried to get ready as quite as possible and was planning to slip out for a little run on my own. Eventually though, Kate woke up, and then one by one the rest did as well. We waited for everyone and all walked down to breakfast together to see that we were the last cabin that arived. There was a very Norwegian breakfast awaiting us and we were told to pack our "matpakke" because we wouldnt be having lunch served.

We all went and checked out our cross country skiis and shoes and went on a trip all together. If I remember correctly we went on a 5 kilometer trip. The first one of the week. :) The rest of us got to go to some pretty amaizing meetings afterwords that consisted of a fellow rotarian showing us the importance of the Smoke Alarm and how it works. We also got a crash course on frost bite and so on and so forth. We spent 20 minutes learning the order in which to put cloths on and the proper way to wear gloves. :) In all honesty it was pretty important information but at the time we all felt like three year olds and like it was a waste of time.

We got our supper at around 4ish and then hung out in the guys cabin playin guitar, games, and a million other things. It was still light out after supper so some of the guys went in the sauna and then for a snow dive. Henry (Minnesota), Jean Baptist (France), Luke (Washington), and Alex (Indiana) were the first to try the snow dives during the week. They did quite a few before they decided to take their showers and join in the fun the rest of us were having as well. When they all finished, Nick (Australia) taught me how to play Waltzing Matilda. We all exchanged differnt tunes and then listened to Henry's 9 minute long one. Thank goodness that eventually the power went out. :P Im not so sure how much was left. ha. I made the stupid mistake of saying...."Just keep playing anyway" and he replyed calmly in a your-stipid-voice "I can't, its an electric guitar." hahaha. We played 10 fingers with Nick, Henry, Alex, Kate, Kirsten, and Jamie (Ohio). When that was over Braulio came in and we talked for a bit. After a couple hours of being lazy got tooooo boring I had to get up and do something.

We found GemGem and made him dance. With anyone, it didnt matter....he is just so good, that we wanted to watch. We got ahold of Camilla (Brazil) and then next Nora (Norway - rebound from Brazil). While they were dancing, Sandra (Mexico) and Maria helped me to learn how to dance. Once I had it "mastered" I moved up. ha. I danced with GemGem and he showed me how to do different spins and moves. I still feel terrible :P but its okay. I had a week to practice. After dancing about an hour and a half - two hours each day for a week, I feel pretty confident. When we all colapsed in the chairs and couches and realized that it was only 7 o'clock we felt pretty funny. We were sooooo tired and exausted and it wasnt even barely that late. Little did we know that we were so exausted from our little ski trip that day......the days to come were gonna be 3 times as hard.

MONDAY

On Monday the same morning routine. I woke up earlier than everyone else and went for a short run outside. Brekfast was at 8 each morning. Kate woke up early with me and we went to eat together as the first ones. All of us were split into three groups. Our cabins still stayed the same, but they made three differnt groups for the day activities to control us better. :) Group 1 consisted of all of the Americans and Canadians except for Aaron (Massachusits) and Racheal (Pennsylvania). The only reason they wernt able to be with us was because there was too many. That was the only reason, not because of anything else. Group 2 was all Australians, and Group 3 was all the "others" :P This would be places such as South America, Asia, and Europe.

So, after breakfast all of Group 1 people got to go and rent out down hill skiis. We jumped into a tiny bus/van and were on our way to the resort. It was so exciting. When we got there, the man in charge pointed to the largest slope and asked who had ever skiied on something like it. 6 of us raised our hands, and we were free to go. ( He asked if we had ever skied on something like it before...he didnt mention how long ago. hehehehe) :D The rest of them had to stay on the bunny hill until at least after lunch. I was pretty excited. Nora went with us and was our "adult." She made us go down the slope and show her what-we-got. After our little "test" we stuck together and went down all the slopes together. It was Kate, Henry, Alex, Kirsten, and Me who made-the-cut. We had a blast.

After lunch a few more kids graduated the bunny slopes. Allie (Canada) started running around with us after lunch. We were a great group of kids and it was fun to go together, cutting eachother off, making others fall, going Alpine and through the trees and such. Whenever Henry was the "leader" we always went off track and cut through the trees ending up on the side of a completely different slope. Its always fun to go with the dare devils. There was one slope that had a track around the "mountain," but instead, they all cut STRAIGHT down. It was pretty impresive, I thought. :) Since I hadent been down hill skiing on an actuall reall mountain (aka....not Snow-Star) I had a great time.

The day ended way too soon. :( We had to be back at our cabins for supper at 3:30. After we finished eating our meal, all the girls hopped into the same bus/van again. We got to go on.....wait for it.......AND ELG SAFARI. Wahooo. ha. :P To be completely honest....I think that 3 minues into the "safari" the entire bus was asleap. I really wanted to see one, and tried hard to stay away. Keep in mind that its only like 4 o'clock. ha. We were way to excausted. Group 1 had been down hill skiing and the other two had been cross country all day. It was still fun though. The driver woke us up when he stoped the vehicle. We all looked down into this valley to see 6 moose standing there eating. They were so cute. I do have pictures, but since I am writting so much, I really dont have time for the pictures and that can waite for another day.

On what we had thought was the trip back to our cabin, we got "dumped off" at the local Rotary meeting. The guys were there waiting for us, and we had to sit down and introduce ourselves, and stuff. It was nice, except for the fact that many of us were still in our ski cloths and were extrememly tired. Daniel (Australia), who had just arived two weeks earlier, was able to sing the Norwegian National Anthum which was pretty amaizing. The entire Aussi group got up and sang their anthum together, and the hispanics did the macarena with Braulio turning in the opposite direction each time. :) Other than that, I cant think of any other "shows" that were put on.

Once we got back home, it was party party party. NOT. ha. We were exsausted and sat sitting in our chairs staring at eachother joking about how the time....again.....was only like 6 o'clock. This time, however, we did something about it. All the hispanics came over to my cabin and we had another dancing spree while loocked in the kitchen. There were others out in our living room playing cards, so we wernt "allowed" out of the kitched. It was kinda hard to dance in a tiny lane with two people, especialy when you wanna turn around and both people are cought between the counters. If anyones ever been to my house before.....emagine dancing in it....except that the counters were like one foot closer to eachother. Not joking there either. :) We had a blast anyhow. The night ended with GemGem waking me up off of the kitchen floor while using the curtain as a blanket and Braulios sweatshirt as a pillow. When I got in that possition, I have no idea. I do remember Maria telling me though to just rest for a second. Apperiently that one second turned into three hours. :)

TUESDAY

The rest of the week should go by in a flash and should be easy to write about. The morning routine was the same again. This time though, after breakfast, Henry, Kirsten, Kate, Anchor, Daniel, Nicole and I went on an 8 kilometer cross country ski trip. It was AMAISING. I dont think anyone will ever understand why I love it so much. You just never will until you try it yourself.

We ended up meeting up with another group of Americans on a different trail. Some from our group went to theirs, and then we headed out again. Instead of taking a trail made specificly for us Rotarians, we took the longer path. We ened up going down a steep hill (p.s. that would be my facebook profile picture) We went one by one. I ended up going so far that if I wouldnt have stopped myself to wait for the others, I could have easily kept going down the next hill as well. As the other four headed out again, I walked up the hill just to come back down again. I love it! :)

The others got way ahead of me and I had to make up time so I wouldnt loose them. Just when I thought there was no way of getting them, I popped over a hill and saw Ancher watching me from below. With a huge grin on his face, he slowly stepped into my lane. EIKE! I was going down the second hill full blast and tried to get my skies out of the grooves. At this point is he laughing......little does he know that his attempt to make me fall backfired, and he fell over just as I zoomed by. (yes....I fell eventually too) :) Why he did it I will never know. We were all picking on eachother the whole time :) Man, I love skiing.

We skied up hill for the last 15 minutes. I was so looking forward to the rewarding down hill afterwords, only to find out that once we got to the top.....our cabins were there! No down hill slope. :'( It was fine though. We arived in just in time for lunch. We got some water, ate, and rested for a few minutes. Since group 2 went down hill skiing this day, it was now group 3's turn to cross country skii after lunch. A ton of my friends were in this group and I had a "free day" after lunch with nothing on my schedual. So..... yup, you guessed it.....I went out with them as well. We took a different path, so that was nice, to see new things. Daniel and I were the only group 1 people to go out twice that day. This time we did about a 5 k. It wasnt so trecherous as the one we did about half an hour earlier. Its always nice to go slow and steady and enjoy a nice conversation while being able to see the scenery.

Tuesday night the guys all got to go out on their Elg Safari. The girls just stayed home and "slapped." :) We just relaxed for a bit. Bri, Kirsten, Zoe, and I decided to go for a Sauna/snow dive after supper. About 4ish we got in and argh......I still dont like them. Saunas make me feel like I cant breath. Maybe by the end of my exchange (in nearly 5 months) I will learn to like them. So far, nope. What I did enjoy however, was the part when we ran outiside in pretty much nothing and jumped in the snow. The first impact is so cold that it feals warm. As stupid as it sounds, it was pretty refreshing. We did three dives by the end of our night and it actually felt pretty good. After our first one, we made up coreografi in the sauna that we were required to do in the snow on our next dive. I forget now what all it was......but I have it all on video. We had to like run out, dive head first in, role three times to the right, do a belly flop, count outloud to three, and then we were alowed to go back inside. The guys returned and got in the sauna as well. If it wasnt for the snow dives, I dont think I would have been there. Saunas have the same equivelent feeling to me as tractors. Those of you who know me.......you know what that means. I had three other girls there with me the whole time, so it was okay I suppose, I still dont know why I did it.

After our showers we had another kitchen dance again. :) This is the night I slept on the couch so that Sandra could sleap in my bed and wouldnt have to go all the way back to her cabin in the dark alone. When I woke up on Wednesday morning......nobody was in my bed and we both slept on the couch. ha. oops.

WEDNESDAY

Got up, got breakfast, and group 3 went to the down hill slopes. Those of us who felt up to it, went on another ski tur. This one was about 9k. It was still amaizing. No matter which direction we go on, it is still beutaful and nothing ever looks the same as what we saw the day before.

We got back, ate our packed lunches, an then the rest of the day was spent on the tiny down hill slope there located near our cabins. We made it fun though, dont worry. And by fun....yes....I mean dangerous. We went to the left of the lift instead of on the slope, which was on the right. We went through the rough terain, through the trees, and made our way to the bottom next to our cafe/dinner cabin thingy. It was pretty sweet.

I got enough guts to try the jumps. The first time I went of it I think was maybe my best one until I landed it completely. It took me maybe 5 or 6 times. The only terrible falls I remember are two of em. One I dove down like a bird out of the sky and pretty much broke my neck. I got up too fast I think because my head was pounding and it hurt realllly bad. 3 seconds later though....and I was back on the lift up for another ty. Another time I fell, the worst of them all, was when I went flyinig of the ramp, and did like a belly flop in the snow. Except its not as cool as it sounds. Try flying like 7 feet of the ground and doing a belly flop on something exuivalent to concreet. It hurt terrrrrrible. That time I knew I was okay but still didnt want to move. I couldnt breath so great and was just hopping nobody was watching. Little do I know that.....EVERYONE was standing at the bottom of the slope worried. argh. And here I was hoping that nobody was paying attention. I ended up being fine, shook it off, and went up again and again. I finaly was landing the jumps well enough and pulling off some stunts, that the guys from the local newspaper asked to interview me and take a few pictures of em. How amaizing is that. Out of like 50 kids....he picked me! hehehehe I felt special. :)

The day ended with two bonfires outside. They were so cute. They cut a trail back into the trees and we all went out and fixed hot dogs......WITH BUNS! They had mashed potatoes, boller, and glug. I pretty much felt Norwegian. hehehehe.

The day couldnt end with a little more dancing and a wonderfull massage by GemGem. His brother is a missuse and tought him everhting. Its amaizing. I woke up later sometime still laying there on the ground with my cabin full of people. That was a little embarasing. Sandra, GemGem, and I all got to talk for like two hours before I finally decided to go to bed. It was amaizing. This was the night I descovered I understand Portugues......like almost 80% everything. How and when this happend, I have no idea. I never really thought of the language difference until he told me randomly that he had been speaking portugues for like the past half hour. That was kinda cool. I dont understand Camilla when she talks though, which is odd. I dont understand this. :( Anyway, eventually after a looooooooooong time, I went to bed.

THURSDAY

So, Thursday. This was amaizing. This was the day that the groups ended and everyone was able to go to the slopes together. I went up with all the dare devils before lunch and then ended up eating my lunch on a chair that we found at the top of the highest slope which looked over everything. It was jut Daniel, GemGem, and me. The girls couldnt come becuase they completely forgot to bring their skis from the cabin. ha. So, they ate by themselves down in the lodge. We ended up not skiing until like an hour later.

We took a million pictures and just admired the view in every direction for what seemed like for ever. Everhthing was so beautiful. I love how God is able to introduce somethinig new and beautiful into my life every day. THANK YOU! We ended up going donw the slope and meeting up with Jan and Kjell. Jan took GemGem, and Kjell took me. We went up the highest slope, skiied over to the north (I think....the north) for like 5 or 6 minutes, and then caought another lift up even higher. Im not too sure many people knew that lift was there, and I actually think it belonged to a different ski place. Either way, we went up higher....and got the best view yet. We skiied down to the left the first time, and then went back up and skiied down to the right the second time.

On our way down we met a group of colleged aged /adult student who were learning some pretty serious skiing skills. They were all in a line and went down the hill one by one, leaving about 3 seconds inbetween each of them. I slipped into line in the end and attemepted to do what they were, it didnt work so well. I never fell, but I can tell you one thing.....it deffinetly didnt look like it was supposed to. These people were good, and I think they were a part of a team or soemthing.

GemGem and I checked out our watched to see we had about half an hour left. We got to the bottom, picked up MaJo and Boaz (Australia), and went back up. This time we decied to go through the fluffy untouched snow on our way down. I went downt he hill on the left and GemGem on the right. Somehow half way down the hill he popped out from the left and I from the right. ha. He slip about 10 feet and fell. I had two options. 1. Run into him, or 2. Fly over the edge of the cliff which was a completel drop off of possibly 30 feet. God was watching over me and thank goodnes too because I was completly out of control. I ran right into Gendly but all was good. We shook it off and had a good laugh as we raced down the rest of the hill. p.s. I lost. ha.

Thursday night we stayed up to celebrat Bri's birthday. At around 2, I went to bed....but the cabin was still rockin.

FRIDAY

This was the worst day of the whole week. It started out amaizing.....but the end wasnt so good. I havnet been ablet o get a good nights sleep in almost three days because of it. Just read on to see why...... Okay, so....I woke up early again....freshened up, and headed outside.

We were to eat breakfasat quickly and go out on our cross country skiis to where we would be eating lunch. I got ready and headed out with Daniel at my heals....and Nick in front of me. We were at a nice steady pace for about 5 kilometers when we came to our seteling point. We unstraped and sat down to wait for the others while sipping on some nice hot chocolate. We started the fire and warmed our hands. The plan was to make boller later on before we left. :) I was excited. Everyone arived, and ate their foods at a different pace.

From our spot where we ate we all had the option to go 8 kilometers, on a 12 k, or 18k. Henry, Ameg, Sandra, Daniel, Kirsten and I decided to take the 18 k. We headed out and within less that 10 minutes we had the most fantastic view in the world. Of course, I forgot my camera....how pathetic. :( Henry had a nice like "real" camera though, so I think I might steal some of his photos later or something. :) We were able to track some raindeer tracks and followe them through a valley. We had em for about 5 miles, and lost the tracks over a small hill that our skii trail did not go close too. :'( That would have been amaizing to see a whole heard of em close up. There were plenty of other things however, to catch our breath.

On our way back, we tried to pull some stunts again. We tried to go down hill in the grooves of the cross country tracks, and pull a 360. Henry was almost able to actually accomplish it but then fell after the landing. After a while Henry, Kirsten, and I got too far ahead of the others and waited for a bit. We took our skiis off and front flipped in the snow. Henry was able to get a whole two turns in, while I was able to pull something off that looked like a messed up summersault. :P We had a ton of fun. When the others arived, they tried it as well. We were covered in snow by that point and were excauseted.

When we got our skiis back on, it was a race from there. We had about 6 kilometers left and ripped through em. Kirsten competes cross coutnry compettivly back in America, so she was off and away as soon as we started up. I was able to stick to Henrys side for about 4 k and slipped back into third. By the end of it all, I think Henry pulled in front of me and arived at the cabins with a meer 1:30 lead. :( GemGem came next, Daniel, then Sandra. Poor Sandra. She went on the 18 k with us, and had never been skiing before this weekend before. :( She was soo sore.

When we got back to the lodge, GemGem wanted to go sledding on the down hill ski slopes. "Why not!" I think its a supperb idea and jump on the lift right away. We ride the lift up and watch as others go down, off the track, hit the fluffy snow, and do flipps. Alot of people had been going down two and two on this stearable sled. We thought we could pull it off too. What happends is that the person on the back jumpes off the sled before hitting the fluffy snow to avaid doing flipps together. "This shoudl be easy" I thought. Everyone had been doing it all day. We got to the top, started to sweat a little and re-think our decision. We decided to just do it. We had been doing neck-breaking-things all week, why stop now. I got ont the sled an let him stear. As I a sitting on the back going down the hill we are heading straight for the fluffy un-touched snow. This was working excactly as planned and amaizingly well. As we gett closer and coloser I start to think through my evacuation plan. Somehow I have to get off before we hit the snow. Oh now!!!!!! shoot!!!!! how have they been getting off......"do somethin" "crap" "NOOOOOOOO!!!" My leg gets cought in the bottom of the sled and we go flying though the air cought and tangled togther. We do front flipps together but not how it was planned at all. We smash into the snow.

I feel fine, and am a little scared ot of my whits. I was just excited that we pulled it off. I just lay there in the snow without movving and am laughing my head off and the wonderfulness that the ride turned out to be. Its not until I here Ameg whimpering and "yelling" that I realize thats the the right sound he should be making. He tells me to gett off him quick and just keeps speaking in portugues about how much pain he is in. Everyone had gone in to eat supper and we were out on the slopes alone. All of a sudden I see Australian Daniel walk by. He cant see us because we are buried in the snow behind a small cottagy house. I yell for him to go get help and what seems like ages later....Nora comes running around the corner. Since she had been to Brazil the year before, she is able to speak to him and figure out what excactly is hurting. As Nora and I help dig his leg out of the snow.....facing the wrong direction.....Seb (Australia) pulls him up. He hates this part and getting him out of to the packed snow takes a bit.

He is unable to walk and when we take him inside everyone suddently swarms around him. I put my snow forzen mittens on his knee and let it ice for a bit while Nora gets an adult to tak ehim to the doctor. He feels terrible and eventually all the rest of the "spectators" back off. As the two of us are sitting there......neithe one talking, he has tears streaming down his face. It almost kills me to see him in pain. He isnt even moving and he is crying. I had no idea what to do. The worst part of all that makes me feel bad is that I was laughing after the inscident.

Once they took him to the doctor they served me supper. I ate like 1/3 of it and went back to the guys cabin and cryed myelf to sleap. At this point I feel like it was all my fault. If only I could have just gotten off of the sled sooner. :'( I woke up at one point with Camilla giving me a hug and saying it was okay. I woke up again when Nick came and got me and said that it was time for the party. Party? what party? well.....apperiently there were four birthdays during that week, and they were celebrating all of them down in the lodge.

I got up and started walking there by myself. Nick came running up the lane again telling me that GemGem was back. I asked how he was, but he said he didnt know, he came to tell me right away. We both went to see him. He was in the lodge, standing on his right leg. The second I walked in he gave me a huge hug and didnt let go. He said that it was no way my fault. I cant help it though but think about how it wasnt. I asked what the doctor said, and well....he didnt know anything. He had to go to the first doctor they could find which wasnt a specialist. This docotor only gave him some pain pills and crutches and told him to wait utnil Monday for the "real" one. Keep in mind that its Friday. When you have a possible broken knee.....three days is a lifetime.

He sat down and I brought him three slices of cake and a drink. We took picturs with Agosh, Daniel, Bri, and Kjell.....the birthday kids. Afterwords we went back to my cabin and sat in the kitchen on the counter for like an hour. We talked through the fall again, and he kept telling me it wasnt my fault. He said he was really tired and was gonna go to sleap. Daniel however, had different plans. He wanted us to stay up for his birthday. We had like 4 hours left. ha. We sat on the chouch and just fell asleap. Eventually, closer to midnight, we were all up again. I walked Gendly back to his cabin and made sure he didnt need anything. At this point, I am still sucking up to him (dude...I still am. :) I went back to my cabin and figured out how to make our lite strobe. When Daniels birthday finaly got there we cranked the iPod up and stobed the lights. It was amaizing. We had Charles (Australia) Camilla, Nora, Daniel, Me, Seb, Agosh, MaJo, Sandra, Emily, Kirsten, Bri, Zoe, Henry, Jamie, Allie, Anchor, Braulio and like a BUNCH of more people there for the party. At three int he morning Daniel woke me up on the couch and told me to go to bed. :)

My day was ruined and after that night, I havent slept well since.

SATURDAY

Saturday I woke up at early again to see if Ameg needed any help. He slept in a little, I dont blame him. We got some breakfast and I made him his lunch for him. He was ready to leave at 1 o'clock in the after noon and it came as a big suprise at 9:30 when one of the adults came over and said that his bus was leaving at 10:00. We had half an hour to get him fed, packed, and in the bus. They wated an extra 15 minutes for him....it was very nice. Alex helped him pack, then Nora came in and helped bring em back to the bus. Everyone really felt sorry for him and it was soooo nice.

My train left at 2, so I still had time to help him out and not worry about missing mine. Daniel and I went down to the lodge after everyone left and ate some lunch with Nora and Bri. At 1ish, the two of us jumped in the van that would take us to the station. Instead we ended up going to Agosh's new host family. She met them for the first time that day. They were so nice, and I am sure she will love them.

Daniel and I finnally got on our train home and then split at Drammen where Narve came and picked me up. I talked the whole ride home....suprising huh? The weekend was so fun, but was monstly kinda ruined by Friday. I felt so bad. I talked to GemGem when I got home again. He got home alright, but felt worse.

SUNDAY

My week was over and I talked to GemGem. His counselor made him got to the doctor right away instead of wait for the doctor. GOOD NEWS!!!!! It didnt brake. I guess what happened was taht he broke his ligament completely and wont be able to walk for two months or so. This made me feel terrible becuse he has soccer practices every day and games on the weekends. Then he was suposed to go to Trysil on a ski compo and wont be able to make it. He had been planning it forever and I remember him telling me about it earlier on in the week on Sunday. :(

Laila had been at our cabin for the weekend with one of her friends. When she got home she noticed "I had been outside." Then on Monay at school (today) EVERYONE noticed my frekles? and tan? what? One week of sun can apperiently make a difference. ha.

Anyway, please, everyone, pray for Gendly and that he gets better soon.....perferably in 15 days. (thats what he says :)

Ski tur

So, the other day I went on a little ski trip with John, Anne-Marit, and a friend. We started of at their house...right across the street, through some fields, to Asker. It didnt take so long, was beautiful weather, and great scenery. It was a wonderful tour. Sometimes i dont think its possible, but somehow, I fall deeper in love with the sport every time I go out. :) Although winter hasnt taken over Fall, its in a very close second. :) Over Christmas, I have recieved a box from home which contained many things....my senior pictures among them. Laila was able to scan them and put them on here for me...so, if you want one, chose quick and drop me a line on which one you would like me to save you. The clarity might be a little better in life, so only base your choice off of the general picture, not the details themselves. (They seem a little lighter off color maybe....)

This is in our pasture West of the county line.

Pasture South of our house.

In the studio.

On the dirt road with the chickory (I kinda wanna add "and a tall oak tree"....starting to sound like a country song.) :)

Corn and beans....this is where detail would come in handy for you to see...but in the actual picture, you can see both.
Hope you enjoyed them. :)
